Here's a trick for the future:
Your private email address (the one you get from your ISP) don't give out to anyone aside from family and close friends. For all other correspondence get a few free accounts at hotmail or any of the other free web-based hosts. Use one of em for all other correspondence, use one of em for when you fill out web forms that need email addresses (like discussion boards, etc.) and use one for when you fill out "contest" forms or *ahem* websites of a 'racy' nature
That way your private email is kept clean and all the spam goes to someone elses server to clog it up, they can deal with it and you can pretty much ignore the majority of it
It may sound like a hassle to set it all up but it is not too hard to have your email client check more than one account and in the long run is a lot less of a hassle than dealing with all that spam
