were you by any chance looking at an avi file at the time? xp has a bug in it atm that if you even try to look at the properties of an avi file that has a corrupt header, it'll screw up and try to load the entire contents of the avi file into ram, so if the avi is 500 megs, explorer will use 500 megs, happened to me yesterday twice for a 700 meg file i was trying to delete... lolol
