I had some trouble with Remote Desktop for a while, but found some REAL HELP here....

3) Open Help and Support in Windows XP, then in the search box type "remote desktop", then select the help topic "Connect to another computer using remote desktop web connection"...

The First Link (russel) if you scroll down his page to "Tuning Remote Desktop", this little article will show you how to set up remote so it uses Less resources, and tricks to make it work better...
The last article is a kb article on how to Change the port used for remote desktop (I highly recommend that you change this, it is EASY for someone to Take Over your computer when using the generic port that EVERONE knows...)
