There are two possiblities First install XP the linux .Linux will create a partition for itself which size decided by you.And let you boot up into windows by LiLo(stands for LinuxLoad
)
Second you install linuz than xp wtf? Linux gone? No! Create boot a floppy while installing linux. Boot from floppy and change the boot loader to lilo and you will have change to choose which os to load!
