For some time NNTP was hot, mainly because it was new, and maybe because it was a way to exchange information BetaONE would not support, but also couldn't moderate.
Because BetaONE (the crew) was not able to anticipate on the exchange of 'illegal content' that yet was done in our name we decided to no longer support the news service. Oh yeah, it also had some bad influence on the performance of our host.
Maybe, if we find a way to control what goes on in the groups we may decide to reopen the nntp services. Till then, you have to do it with just the forums...
