Folk who run restricted user accounts with fast user switching under Windows XP will find some games won't start properly. The pesky game ? not the OS ? says the original disk has to be placed in the drive, even though it might already be in the drive.

Luckily, those sharp-eyed eagles at the Ace's Hardware forum spotted this new download for XP ? and here's Microsoft's take on the whole sorry business.

The Ace's Thread rightly points to the fact that user rights, administrators and copy protection are all taking their toll on the simple fun of playing Windows-based games.
