I had a similiar thought when I first got my new mobo. I had two usb ports on the front of the case and didnt know how to connect them. The 10 pin part on your mobo can actually (and is designed) to hold TWO usb ports. So 8 of the 10 pins are used. Take one port, connect the respective pins to pins 1, 3, 5, 7 and the other port to pins 2, 4, 6, 8.
You should be fine if you do that.
