Today some users are being charged for downloads via ADSL or Mobile circuitry per byte, and in some cases domestic traffic is free, but international traffic is charged for after a quota is reached. In any case where volume charges occur, it can be, at times, difficult to understand what users are being charged for and what not. NetInternals has developed a simple to use tool to measure the download. CostAware is made available as a promotional product free of charge for everyone. A more feature rich version of the product, that will monitor the traffic more closely, will be made available early next year (2003).
