Pretty much useless I would say.
The newbie maybe, but then many newbies run their computers by the book (or "install-cd") and aren't aware that their ISP maybe are directing all http-traffic thru a proxy. Then again they might be behind a little router (for sharing the Internet connection) and thus might get confused with the different results.
Also, if they need to know their IP they either aren't newbies any more, or should have learned enough to get the ip without installing extra utils.
Ah, I'm not sure what I'm blabbing about here. Maybe just the fact that there are some mistakes that can be done. Any newbie can use the little util from castlesoft (there are a lot of theese btw). How many newbies can determine if the figures returned are correct?
