Thanks for all yall's time.. The purpose is for a web page. See, I have unlimited webspace, many many files (like 15 gigs) Many folders, and well i just hate copying the url directly out of my ftp and have to edit it short from

ftp://userass@dumbassdomain.com/httpdocs/path/to/file

to

http://dumbassdomain.com/path/to/file

My site draws to much for just me to moderate and I dont want to give users full access to my hosting account, but I could just give them a web ftp user account but.... if they have that, the file would have to be fully linked and users would be able to browse all ftp files in that web user account, not to mention I cant set permissions for it. SO if someone wants to.... they could just delete any file they wanted if they accessed the web user ftp's by the visable password and user in the url
