Currently, I use McAfee 6.02 Pro (will go with 7.0) at home and haven't had a single problem with it (using Win 95/98/SE/XP) for over four years.
We use NAV 7.XX CE at work. IMHO, NAV is better for the work environment where you need to manage across a large network but McAfee is better for home use.
I had to find and delete all the registry settings after trying to install NAV at home. I went back to McAfee after the third "fixing" job using NAV.
BTW, I think NAV charges a nominal amount for Virus Definition files after a year where as McAfee is free for the lifetime of the product. Then again, if you have access to the software at work, then you could get the definition files for free.
