Well, the best reason I can give that a person, you thought was a friend, would start spreading stuff about you.

The first and foremost reason would be because this person is actually jealous of you and what you have compared to themselves. In essence what they are doing is trying to bring you down to their level so they don't feel so inferior.

The best advice I can give you is to be like a duck and let it just roll off your back. I know that is easier said than done, but like you said, you are out of high school now and there should be more important things to worry about than a SO CALLED friend and the rumors they are spreading about you.

You have to face a fact that no matter what you do, or how old you are, people will always talk about other people.

A very good rule of thumb that I follow and practice is, if it is something that I can not directly control, I don't worry about it. One of the worst things in life you can do is worry about the things you can't control. This will do nothing but stress you to the breaking point, because you will never be able to change it.

So just move on to bigger and better things, and enjoy life with people that are willing to enjoy it with you, not at your expense.
