It takes up a drive letter in "MyComputer"

If I disable it in Device Manager, would it cause any problems at all?

Actually, Sata Drivers supposedly are universal, but they have been updated several times over the last couple of years. Apparently the latest is ICH5, and there is a FAQ about GHost and Sata drivers...

I found out that it is Ghost 2003 that is incompatible with SATA hard drives. As soon as I disconnected the newly hooked up Sata drive Ghost worked perfectly again.
