A power failure is not the only cause for firmware upgrade failure. Don't forget you must use a proper boot disk to avoid trouble, look at www.bootdisk.com.

Wasn't it recognized by the system when you installed? Thought that Microsoft had bundled drivers for all usr modems. My old 3com usr message modem was always installed and ready to run.
