I've never really understood how this worked.  If my dad has it enabled (he lives 5 hours away) can I connect to his computer and do stuff on it?

If so, what do i need to tell him to do so that I can access it?  thanks.

open your start menu, open run> mstsc .make sure you are both on line,* have him give you his Admin user name (if not admininstrator) you will need his Password and his ip address. when remote desktop conecttion is up enter his IP in the computer ,* Admin user name and password and connect. Then it will open a screen that looks like you are sitting in front of his computer.* Then do what you would need to do.* If he has a firewall or router he will need to give you permissions as well.

Dude, you sure you want to show that wallpaper in public?? :D

Is he running a firewall? Even the standard WinXP fire wall?

oh dangit, that was what i was trying to tell him to disable and couldn't think of it in time.

ok finally got it working somewhat.  He has to logoff before i can logon which in return breaks his dialup connection and therefore i can't connect anymore.
