We are setting up a wireless network at our hospital...Our Enterasys RoamAbout Access Points work fine... However when we put the Cisco Aironet 350 cards in the workstations they wont associate with the Enterasys AP's. I did everything exactly as described in the documentation for the Client Utility. Reason why we need to use the Cisco cards is because we are going to implement some Wyse Terminals which only have built in plugins for Cisco and we downloaded thier latest firmware and its still that way, we also called and they said thats not going to change. I just need possible suggestions as to why the Cisco Aironet Cards are not associating with the Enterasys RoamAbout AP's

Well, did you try any other client cards?  I know you're not interested in using them permanantly, but for troubeshooting sake it might be good.

Also, just to give the company I work for a little plug, check out the wireless test tool that we make... http://www.cmc.com.  It's for AP manufacturers to test their products, but also seems like the product would do well for system integrators/installers.

What OS is on your PC's?
And can you give me a step by step on your install?
How you configured everything I've been through this before.
But until I know what has been done till now......

The setup is basically this: We have RoamAbout Access point with 128bit encryption
with RoamAbout cards. We also have roamabout cards in the the PC´s....This all works fine.....The problem is we have Wyse mobile terminals that only support Aironet or WaveLan Cards....So with the same configs we tried to use the Aironet cards in the RoamAbout Access point and Pc´s and Wyse terminals...tHIS SCENARIO DOESNT WORK......However my reaserch has me believing that Cisco Aironet Cards only work with Cisco equipment...or if that is not true, the Cisco cards just are not compatible with Enterasys RoamAbout equipment. So I guess unless I get a better suggestion, bottom line is we may just have to change out our RoamAbout stuff for Cisco Equipment....

Our PC´s are using Win2000 and our Wyse Terminals are using Thin Client...All of which doesnt really matter.....The Wyse terminals like I said before come with built in support only for Aironet and WaveLan cards...We basically in the mess because our manager bought the RoamAbout equipment before he heard what cards the Wyse Terminals support. We tried with WEP wothout WEP, 128bit, 40bit Open, Shared Acccess ,,,I tried every possible scernarion and combination.

Does device manager say it's working properly?
If it is, I'm going to assume.  That you've configured it in the Cisco software.
But did you also do the Windows side in Network Connections?  It's like you have to enter the IP info twice.
And did you also enter your SSID info?
This is why I was asking for a step by step on your install!

Yeah all the required info is configured in the Cisco Utility SSID WEP, MAC of the AP its all there but the card just wont associate with the RoamAbout AP´s

I think you just might have to go with the Cisco equipment.
Be sure to let me know how it turns out.
