In the topsy-turvy world of the next Windows Server version ("Will it be Longhorn Server?" vs. "Will it be Blackcomb Server?") comes news that the next version, which will indeed by Longhorn Server, will not ship alongside desktop versions of Longhorn. This is similar to what happened with the Whistler project, which morphed into separate Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 development paths. Microsoft hopes with Longhorn, however, to get the desktop and server releases a bit closer to each other in order to make life easier on customers. According to current schedules, however, what I call Windows Longhorn (desktop) will ship in late 2005, while Longhorn Server won't hit until early 2006. Since Microsoft likes to keep its server releases about three years apart, that's good timing. But then Microsoft was never one to keep to a schedule

Windows XP ServicePack 2 build 1224 leaked
The 155 MB package slipped to the internet yesterday, not much news about it some screenies here Source:* Bink.nu View:http://www.winfuture.de/index.php?page=wfv4/news/news-showspec.php&news_id=10302 Notes:* Edit1: If the cursor is in the Notes box while pressing Done, then you get the Notes: bit. So don't put your cursor in the Notes box while pressing Done, unless you have Notes. :D Edit2: Um, Notes is still displayed. NP, just delete that line </span><blockquote><span class="smallfont"> </span><hr size="1" />Originally posted by: Notes: <hr size="1" /></blockquote><span class='postcolor'>. Edit3: If we edit the post back, then the url bug occurs again. (look at the very first post). Edit4: we got another problem lol. The code function seems to be mixed up with quote function. :D |
myHTPC is a highly customizable, menu driven front end that allows you, among other things, to launch external programs, browse pictures and large collections of almost any type of media stored on your computer.
myHTPC is extremely flexible and allows you to easily build nested menu structures that can accomplish many tasks. Its large, clear display makes it perfect for large monitors or TV sets. Although myHTPC is targeted at Home Theater Personal Computer users, it can serve many purposes. For example, it can be used to build a simple menu for children to access their programs. It can also work very well with kiosk and touch-screen applications Source: Bink.nu View: http://myhtpc.net/ Notes: |
