At this post: http://betaone.net/forums/showthread...threadid=26741 there is a link for a mIRC faq: http://www.mirc.com/faq.html

To connect to BetaONE IRC Network (BetaIRC):
In the status window, type /server betairc.ath.cx:11646 and when connected, type /join #beta

Download the mIRC client here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html

Hope this helps you :)

Another solution is to download our instant messenger called MessageONE from www.betaone.net/im - this has a build in IRC client and instant messaging amongst b1 members.

The quickest way to get on IRC is to go to www.betaone.net/irc, type a nick, press OK, and your on.... But for reqular users we reccomend more feature-packed clients than the web based one.

I have been to this site www.betaone.net/irc downloaded a file called setup .zip it says when you do this to follow instruction in this file what instrutions where???what to do? it has one file messageone.msi have clicked on this still no instructions???jtk

I think your confusing www.betaone.net/irc with www.betaone.net/im

If you go to www.betaone.net/irc you should be able to type a nick and go on IRC w/o downloading any files..

I have just tried www.betaone.net/irc and i can login as betaONE14 is this alright when i go in what to do??? cant write anything i am confused i think you need to expain what you do when you get in what it can be used for i am very new at this .jtk

There's a bit of a learning curve to mIRC, but nothing insurmountable. McoreD is right in that we need to know what you want to do. If you want to download files, look at my post to McoreD regarding a download client, and use the following sites to find what you need:

PacketNews and
MyDownloader

These are excellent DCC search engines, but they're sometimes down so be patient. You also need to be patient with mIRC as many of the files you want are also wanted by other people, and queues get full quite quickly. But, with patience and perseverence, along with the help of DCCAssist, you'll eventually get what you need.

There's also Options settings you need to use to get mIRC to work to its optimum, but there are many sites around the Web along with those already suggested in this post to get mIRC working like it should. Take some time, learn all you can, experiement a bit, and you'll soon be a knowledgeable mIRC user.
