People getting stuff on my server are going about.
.04kbps?!?! I dont know why. :-/ I had to reset it up...but ...i dunno why its going so slow on uploads. any help? |
Full Duplex.. Half Duplex.... ahmmmmmmmm... Lets see.....
.. ..... ....... Possiblity of uploads being capped... That should not do anything... grrrr...... I wouldn't mind giving it a test.... Oh.. That reminds me.... Oh sh*t... I can't do that from here...Grrrr... My main computer is in storage.. Darn it.... Jessica.. I'm sorry if my thoughts are garbled.. :o Can you post some FTP stats.. Mabye that might help.. If it is not too late.. :( Sorry, Cyberion |
go here, make sure you have java enabled under ie6, and click the start button. don't do anything while the test is running (make sure you do not have any traffic while running the test).
after it's done the first red bar tells you your download speed while the second red bar tells you your upload speed. remember that those numbers are in bits, so to get bytes just divide the number by 8. if the numbers you get confirm/match your current speed, then i'm sorry to say that's your max ul speed and there's not much you can do unless you can cough up some more dough for your isp :) btw, what's your connection anyways? cable, dsl? if it's dial up, then umm, don't even bother, lol |
Any chance you mean this site, Capricorn ?

lol, yes, thanks, i'm kinda forgetful these days :)
h+tp://www.dslreports.com/stest?loc=1 or h+tp://www.dslreports.com/stest?loc=2 |
I agree that DSL Reports might help. I am going to suggest that
Jessica go to this page: _http://www.speedguide.net/ About 8 lines down from the top she should find a link to: Cool SG Broadband Tools: TCP/IP Optimizer | TCP/IP Analyzer She should click on th TCP/IP Analyzer and check her settings. _http://forums.speedguide.net:8117/ |
I disagree about everything, maybe cause there is some information lacking here: Jessica (still got the problem?), do you have slow upload only or also slow download? Is the problem concerning your server (G6?) only or does it also affect when you upload to somebody else using a ftp-client? Is it only you, or do your neighbours have the same problem? What hardware is affecting your speed - do you run the puter behind a router and a switch or is it coupled directly to your cable(?)-modem?
0.04 kB/sec is so slow that it clearly indicates a sudden problem, I don't think optimizing any TCP/IP-settings will do here. |
ok i ran the test and....
TCP options string = 020405b401010402 MTU = 1500 MTU is fully optimized for broadband. MSS = 1460 Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS. Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 17520 RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits Unscaled Receive Window = 17520 RWIN is a multiple of MSS Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS: 513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8) 256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4) 128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 64240 (MSS x 44) bandwidth * delay product: Your RcvWindow limits you to: 700.8 kbps (87.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms Your RcvWindow limits you to: 280.32 kbps (35.04 KBytes/s) @ 500ms Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband. MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON Time to live left = 117 hops TTL value is ok. Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 000000 SO NOW WHAT! What should i change?? (rwin) and how? Last edited by TRYJAY at Today at 1:39 pm |
help me please I have slow uploads and it discurages peeps from comming to my site!!! read post above!!
|
Mine look like this:
bandwidth * delay product: Your RcvWindow limits you to: 21958.4 kbps (2744.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8783.36 kbps (1097.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms This is for cable. some people use Cablenuts tweaker from here: _http://www.broadbandnuts.com/software.shtml Others prefer speedguides's optimizer found here: _http://www.speedguide.net/ Others like to use both together. speedguide's tweaking forum, _http://forums.speedguide.net/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=54 is a good place for help as is Cablenut's forum. |
