Any1 else seen this athttp://www.cdfreaks.com/
Looks like Nero6 needs some attention to detail. |
On my way now to check it out, Thankz 4 da headz up.
Nero 6 contains a 'bug' that could delete your entire harddrive. <_< |
This is only for Nero Recode (which is still beta)... Besides, if you choose to dump your temporary files into the root of your drive... you, the user, is asking for trouble... I am not sure if this would be Ahead's fault...
By default, it is set to dump the temporary files to your temp directory... So if the user changes that, it's their fault... Just my 2 cents... ;) -SlickVic78 |
Thank you SlickVic78

thx for the explanation. I read the postings on cdfreaks & the note on Neros site. I must say I did not quite understand the suppossed bug & thought the recode app was Nero6009.

To me, it makes sense that if Nero Recode asks the user if they want to clear out their temp folder - and if the user says yes, that is what it should do... It is not the programs fault if you decide to change the temporary file location to anything other than the default... It is the user's responsibility to know the consquences... So to me, this really isn't much of a bug... At least the program asks you if it should delete the temp files or not, and it just doesn't do it automatically... :)
Then again, I could be wrong... Does anyone else have any other reasoning behind this? -SlickVic78 |
yea, makes sense.
I assume we are talking about the Nero cache in File/Preferences/ Cache which is set by default to Local Setting/Temp on the C drive? This is the user WindowsXP Temp folder in Documents and Setting. There is no other being used by default in Nero6 as far as I can see. |

[Edit] If you click on the Configure button, the first option is choosing the path to the temporary folder... Which, by default, is the temporary folder... and not the root of your drive. :) -SlickVic78 |
