I have Red Hat Linux 7.3. Whenever I boot the system is unable to configure the correct hostname from the DNS server. Also, when I start Gnome, I get an error message stating that it was unable to find the IP address of the hostname. I have a Cable connection.
Is there anyway that I can fix this? Thanks in advance. |
/etc/hosts /etc/hostname ;-)

Sorry I should have mentioned that I've tried editing that file. Any other suggestions?

Hmm tried hostname command ?

Don't worry it has been sorted out. I used dns2go and used the hostname supplied with that. It now is able to find my IP address. Any idea how to use ProFTPd? I'm utterly confused even after reading the user guide.
