Hi guys

I got a problem with my sound card and network card.

When i have both cards installed, each in their own PCI slot, my network card
works 100%, but my sound card gives problems. no error displays or anything,
it just makes like a stuttering sound from the first sound it gets. ie: it plays
the first split second of a sound and loops it very very fast.

When i take my network card out, my sound card works 100% again.

I cant :rtfm: Cause there is no topics on it. ;)

HELP PLEASE.

whats going on?

any help would be appreciated thanx guys

what other PCI cards do you have? what brand is the sound card and the nic? if the soundcard is a Creative card, move it to the PCI slot farthest away from the CPU

what kind of motherboard do you have, and what chipset does it have on it?

Its a CNet Network card.
An AOpen 5.1 Surround Card.

Not sure the motherboard. thats on my home PC. I'm at work now.
I tried moving the card around. but still the same problem.
The cards worked together perfectly the other day.

Just all of a sudden, they don't like each other. ha ha ha ha
i tried re-installing the Drivers, and nothing is working.

any ideas. I'll get all the specs tonight at home, and give the details tomorrow

cheers

unless it's a VIA KT133A chipset, i'm not sure, unless the NIC is dying, I have two of those same nic's and they aren't really good quality, I'm using my onboard nic in one PC and an SMC nic in another and they're much better

umm.. maybe for some strange reason they are using for same interrupt request, although strange because they are both plug N play.. what I would do is install the NIC first and boot the PC without a sound card, then shutdown and install the sound card and boot up again with both in... just another thing to try out!!!
