alrighty, I got a local domain ("i2techs.local") I got it all done when I first installed my server and everything, now I want to have an "internet" domain, oh i'm going big time now! :) how do you setup the microsoft dns program, to do the local and internet domains, and how do you setup active directory to support it, or do I need to do that? I can't get it once I type all my information in to go to my domain name, yes I have my NS IP with netsol pointing to my IP for my router, and yes it is fowarding it to my computer, I just can't type in "www.i2techs.com" and it work. Can someone help me or show me a tutorial on what I need to do from here?

Don't use the DNS thing by Microsoft. Use ZoneEdit. With ZoneEdit, you can have up to 5 free domain DNS entries, and it's very easy to set up. Once you set up the DNS, it should direct the domain to your IP address.
ZoneEdit's website is http://www.zoneedit.com And to the mods, THIS POST is NOT an advertisement for Zone Edit, nor am I in any way affiliated. I am just a satisfied customer. |
I use DynDns. Free and almost faultless. :)
