Hi

After using Intel based motherboards and cpu's for years, I tried out an AMD socket A board and cpu but I don't really like the performance when put against Intel hardware so I am going back to Intel.

I will be buying the Intel P4 2.4c with 800Mhz bus but I have a few motherboards which I would like users comments on please ...... before I buy:

The first boards have the Intel 875p chipset and are:

ABIT IC7-G
ASUS P4C800D
MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R
Gigs GA-8KNXP

The next boards have the Intel 865PE chipset:

ABIT IS7-G
ASUS P4P800D
MSI 865PE Neo-FIS2R
Giga GA-8IPE 1000 Pro

The four 875 boards appear very similar as do the four 865 boards and, after reading a few comments in this board, I am leaning towards the ABIT boards but I would welcome your comments please regarding the benefits of buying a particular board, especially from those who have experience of any of the boards.

Regards

most of the time in "AMD's fastest chip vs Intel's fastest chip" battles, ABIT motherboard is the home for the Intel chip. This is what i noticed in PC magazine and in online reviews. So I would also go with ABIT 875.

See this one on tomshardwarehttp://www6.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20030707/index.html

My personal favourite is still the Asus P4C800-E, but it is a little expensive.

I would personally go with ASUS. The only problem is that ASUS has started integrating components into their motherboards, which isn't necessarily a good thing. But, if you can find one of ASUS's boards that has minimal integration, then go for it.
