I wonder if some clever clogs will take the Beta 2 and slipstream the technical refresh into it :) That would be handy.

I'll see if the patch works on 5207, I hope so I don't want to uninstal and then reinstall, pain that would be!

You read my mind there. What exactly I was wondering if it is possible.

It doesn't upgrade my existing 5207. need to uninstall and install the beta 2 version and apply the technical refresh.

After installing the technical refresh the word "Bera" still exist in every title bar.

I have spent all morning trying this
There was no comand switch to use on the patches to get them to extract so I used winrar to extract the contents of the opsetup.exe patch and then I tried it using the corp serial to run setup from disk one using setup /a which extracts the contents of the cd to the hdd (when I tried to do this with my betaplace product key I got a message saying I could only do administrative installs with the enterprise version of office but it worked with the corp serial

Afterwards I ran this command:
msiexec /p F:\sp2\PMSB-4920-07a-5329-07-o11pro-ENG.msp /a d:\office\pro11.msi shortfilenames=true /qb

(I had extracted the contents of opsetup.exe to F/sp2 and the contents of Office CD1 to D:/office)

At this point the slipstream started but after about 1 minute while the instaler was saying "gathering required information" I got an error about having to provide a valid product key to perform and Admin install

I tried inserting the serial into SETUP.INI by typing ProductKey=XXXX.XXXX.XXXX.XXXX

but that didn't work

Any ideas?

Wont upgrade mine either. Is there a way to extract the files from the msi packages and just copy/paste them into the relavant directories?

If not I guess I'll have to uninstall 5207, install beta 2 then the patch which is a bit annoying.

Copying and replacing files won't work. Robin tried the standard slipstreaming method in two ways but got two different errors in both cases. :(

Hi Flanderz,

If you're running WXP, try the 'System Restore' and put your system back before the 5207 install (~few weeks?). That's what I did and it all worked great (pretty quick too).

Good luck,
E3

PS Whatever you have to go through, the refresh/update make a big difference and IS worth it :)
