In creating a VPN using a internet connection, do I need a high speed upload or download? in my side I mean. Currently I have 256kbps download bursting to 512kbps and I only have 64kbps upload. Are my connection sufficient enough for my branch office to be online with me?

It all depends on what you want to do with the connections. If the 64 kb is not much, so if you have a lot of traffic going towards you office, because you save lots of file to the corporate network I think you won't get happy.

What you could do however, is use Terminal Service of pcAnywhere (or something like that) and then the 64 Kb will be (just) sufficient.

What are you planning to use the VPN for?

just like you said cactus...im goin to install a terminal services "PC DOU" for them run my application in my office.
