This are the instructions to disable the shutdown event tracker dialog, but for win2003 standard edition this dont works. After Templates> there is no System folder
żany ideas? gpedit.msc Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Dbl-Click "Display Shutdown Event Tracker" and select Disabled thanks |
Question: Are you using Server as a Server or a Workstation?
If the answer is yes: then use ntswitch; If the answer is no: sorry, i cannot help. :-( |
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Reliability]
Value Name: ShutdownReasonUI Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value) Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled) Edit the value in the registry directly. That used to be how I did it in the pre-RC builds of .NET which didnt have the option built into gpedit. |
Thanks, but ShutdownReasonUi is no more there.
Nevertheless I have created it but it dont works. There are alternatives like shuting down with shutdown /f /t 0 /s but... |
Here is the solution :P
gpedit.msc Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > -rightclick- Administrative Templates -add/remove- -add- system.adm from a list....now system folder is there... then System > Dbl-Click "Display Shutdown Event Tracker" and select Disabled |
