I'm trying to install a new firewall program but it refuses to install if Terminal Server is installed on WinXP. Anyone know a way to uninstall it?
Thanks

I'd be more impressed if you knew a way to INSTALL it (!). Terminal services is only availible in Windows 2003 Server versions.

I assume the program has a bug or is incompatible with XP. It might be confused by remote desktop - try temporarily disabling remote desktop access (right click my computer, properties, remote, untick the checkbox)

Damn thing, tried that already. Nevermind, will go back to NIS. Thanks :P

I assume you mean Remote Desktop - single user Terminal Services. You could try disabling the Terminal Services service.

You may have to change its setting to "manual" for the startup type in the services applet then reboot.

Yeah, and Windows NT 4 Terminal Services addition.

And citrix made addons for NT 3.51 aswell.

But its safe to assume that since the software was being installed on WinXP, the server counterpart would be Win.NET 2003.
