But suddenly its started to reboot itself after 5-10 mins without prompt or anything.

It does it when im playing games (any kind) or even when there no activity??

1. Ive checked the fans are all working and they are
2. checked the temp and its around 43
3. all critical patches installed

Have you checked the event viewer? (eventvwr)
And when your system reboots, does any one thing show up?

Listen. Computers are taking over the Earth. :)

When I shut down my MSI KT4 Ultra PC it won't stay shut down. It starts up by itself. Ghosts.

jake been having problems like this for a couple months now. Every time it has wound up being a stick of memory. Mine finally gets so bad it just goes to a constant reboot. Have to pull out all memory and put in 1 at a time to find the bad stick. Sorry can't be of more help

I just went through the same exact problem. Tried different HDDs, 3 different OSs (Win98 Win2K WinXP), and even swapped the power supply. After moving everything to another MB all was fine. It ended up being the mother board. It started by freezing up at random times, then evetually just rebooting like you hit the reset button. It mostly would restart at the Windows 'splash' screen. I even tried turning on the "Blue Screen", but never saw one, and the event viewer showed nothing.

The old MB was an Abit socket 370 about a year old. Just got a Soyo to replace it.

When there is no OBVIOUS reason for failures like this, CLEAN all of your connections. This includes ram and slot contacts, unplug/replug IDE cables several times, etc. Always worth a try.

Appreciate the help & advice guys

This is what ive now done
1. Replaced Power supply
2. Changed heatsink/fan on CPU
3. Removed 1xDVDROM and 1X80GB HD (so power sonsumption is lower
4. Unplugged/Re-plugged all cables & memory

PC seems more stable and hasn't rebooted yet after 4hrs online
I'll keep you posted
