I've lost my power management.
Even if I can open the power management board, nothing appears into it.
Enabling or disabling it in bios changes nothing.
Into ''Local Services'' I found no traces of a ''Power Management Service''
I'm not the only one. Two of my friends are in same trouble.
Who find a solution.

right click my computer, click manage

go to device manager, expand computer, and see what it's listed as, it should be listed as ACPI Uniprocessor PC or something to that effect for power management to work

If it says something else like standard computer or something you could maybe try removing the device and letting it autodetect and install the correct drivers or if that doesn't work you could try newer drivers for your motherboard. If it is an intel chipset you could try the intel application accelerator which might solve the problem with newer drivers

Or maybe you have a conflict in device manager, check for any exclamation marks beside items and check the error

Ok Ok,
So, nothing in the bios changes anything.
Nothing in my system management appears to be in trouble.
I'm on a P4T533C so for my intel I850, I've tried to reinstall the last Intel Application Accelerator.
It changes nothing.
I try to delete the PC monoprocessor APIC in System Management, I can't.

Try installing another operating system on a spare partition and see if the option is in that so you can determine if it is a hardware problem

What happens when you press the power button on the computer?
I think that is ACPI controlled, does it shut the computer down properly or just imediatly disconnect the power?

Ok,
I've tried to enter XP with a new user ID.
I can manage the power with that new user.
I've checked the Local Services and find nothing different than the Admin account.
What could cause these menu (the power management menu) to disappear.
