How do I perform a clean install of drivers/software for this soundcard, and please no advice like "a clean install of XP".

I tried the Audigy-hack :(

you should be able to uninstall the software from the add/remove software dialog box. and uninstall the driver from driver detail dialog box.

but that was the first I tried, "the uninstall-logfile was corrupt" :(
...so what´s next?

reinstall the same drivers and software over the current installation. That should fix your corruptted log file problem. Then you should be able to uninstall all from the add/remove software window.
