I recently downloaded some updates from Microsoft and when I was removing EZ cd creator I noticed several of the updates that were on the "add/remove" program list were named "Windows Xp Hotfix XXXXXXX (SP2). What are these ?

These are pre SP2 fixes, that will be included in SP2 when its out. Just like before SP1, if you looked there were SP1 hotfixes.

At the time you install Service Pack 2, these will be disappeared. So don't worry about the scroll bar getting smaller. :D

if you enable view hidden files under folder options, go into your windows directory and on top you'll see a bunch of hidden folders. those are the uninstall hotfix. if you think you won't be uninstalling any of them, simply delete those folders and clean out your registry with registry cleaner or system mechanic. this'll save you some disc space and the entries under add/remove will disappear as well.
