if you leave a redirect when you move a thread, the only way i know of to get rid of it is for me to go in to the database and manually remove the record for it

And thats a pain in the ass and takes an age :D , i have made that mistake before :P

My test was to uncheck the shortcut/redirect link before I moved the test into Chit Chat, but I forgot until after I did the move. :blink:

Am I correct in assuming that if I would have unchecked the box for the shortcut/redirect link before the move, the double link would not have showed up on the homepage?

I edited my spelling errors, that helps to clear it up a little. Sorry, my 3 month old's in my lap and I'm only working with one hand. Many errors needed to be corrected to understand. :)

You lost me there. If you leave a redirect when you move a thread you can't delete the redirect. Moving the topic back to it's origional location doesnt work either- the redirect is still there.

No! I ment to uncheck the redirect before I moved it, as noted in the postings topic. I just forgot to before I moved it. :thumbdown:

I guess the subject title should have said, "Test - Unckecking Shortcut Link Before Move"

I ment to do it before the move, but forgot. As the default it's checked and I failed to uncheck it before the move which just killed the reason why I was doing the test. :(

Please understand I'm currently solo with all 4 kids while mom ran to WalMart :spam:
