hi guys
i just bought a new Sony 16X DVD Rom. The drive is not reading MovieDVD's but i am able to access DATA DVD's . is there any problem wiht the drive or the CD.

Wich player do you have for the DVD ?

windvd..moreover when i try to open the dvd drrive via Windows Explorer it is sayign that "please insert a disk into the drive"

Is it correctly configured at slave or master ? This can be your problem ;) And check your cable just to be shure that is in good condition

my dvd drive detects all the other DVD R's except Movie DVD roms
