Okay guys... I feel blond... I have been trying for the longest time to try to get the apache web server to work properly on my computer. I have one problem...
Cox.net blocks incoming on port 80... So I have to change my port for my webserver from 1080/80 to another port... I have been using Xitami but have never been able to get my php/cgi/ssl/aspi to work properly and have somewhat succesfuly gotten it to work as a "localhost" but only access it... no one from outside can... I was trying to use ApacheConf.exe which I found on some website that has a GUI that allows you to easily edit the settings but things still aren't working out right... If anyone has a tut that might help me with port settings or even info on getting cgi/php/ssl/aspi working on Xitami I am all ears... Your New Orleans TiGGeR signing out... |
Moved to here as it may enjoy a better response :)
Welcome to BetaONE Nola TiGGer - one of us here should be able to puzzle this out :) /JD |
Hi Nola TiGGeR,
I'm an IIS man myself, but maybe this can help you out a little bit (Sprichts du deutsch ;)?): http://www.dynamic-webpages.de/php/install.xitami.php Regards, E3 |
open up httpd.conf in a text editor
somewhere in the file that should be a directive that says Listen 80 , that's the port number that apache is set to listen on change that to whatever port you want it on, and restart apache go to your router / firewall, open the port, forward it to your pc, and then anybody should be able to access it over http://your.ip:port# |
