Hi!,

I just want to ask about my ftp port problem because when i try to download on other ftp ports, it seem's my download is very slow, the maximum download speed i receive on other ports is only 3->9 KB/s but when i try to download it on the same ftp & i use port 21 my max speed is 32KB/s, Iam using 256kbps Cable Internet. When my friend tried to download on the other port on the same ftp server he reaches his maximum speed of 26KB/s on the same day & time on a 256Kbps ADSL Line. I tried observing it for three days without turning off my computer but I still get a max speed of 3-9KB/s. Any idea how I can fix this?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Is your friend on the same isp? If not, there are a lot of variables at play, I think. For awhile I was using a cable ISP and DSL line (two different ISP's) and found big differences in download speeds, even tho I was in the same physical location and using two different computers downloading the same files.

Also, at that time the dsl isp capped u/l at 16 kb/s and the cable cap was 45 kb/s. I didn't keep the dsl, but now the cable is capped at 16 kb/s.

I don't think the port nr. has anything to do with speed. When I put up my ftp now, I avoid using port 21 since that is a normally monitored port by isp's, at least for statistical reasons.

Hi M8!,

We're not using same ISP:
ex:
glori 12121 - downloading project5 - 3KB/s same day same time
glori 21 - downloading project5 - 21KB/s same day same time

Glori's port 21 is always full [ Very hard to connect ]

Why my download so slow?

We're using same ISP & line speed before, No download problem on any port, but when i tried to change my line to Cable Internet I experience this download slowdown on other port.
I already ask this to my ISP technical support, but they didn't know what to answer.
Please Help!

THANKS IN ADVANCE
