I Have NIS 2003 On my win xp system and at startup i have the red X as disabled and have to manually enable it every time i boot up. I have changed the options to start automatically but it allways reverts back to manual. How do i get it to stay at auto?

If I remember right, I had this problem as well at one point. I think that there is a KB on it @ norton's site....

There is this if you've installed an update....

Or use the search phrase for the NIS 2003, choose other/not listed problem and use this phrase...

NIS does not load at startup
