I have a scsi mirai 16x cdrw and all of a sudden it has just stopped working i have tried using nero cdr win and firburner and i cannot get any of them to work. Nero just spits out the disk and tells me to put in a empty disk to write to.Fireburner tells me i have bad media.Cdr win comes up with a error message.I have tried to put in diskd i know that have programs on to try it this way but when i open up the drive the folders are just empty. If i put it then in my other drive i can see all my programs and install them. Does this mean that my drive has now died or is there anything i can do to fix this problem.

At first I thought your lens might be dirty but you say it will read the toc of a disc with folders but they are all empty. This is BAD! However, you may have dirty CABLES/CONTACTS! Un/Replug all connectors. If you stil have probs, use "add/remove" hardware and reinstall your burner,see what that does. Lastly, add/remove your burning apps and reinstall them.

That's all I can think of.
