Hi all.. I am not to familiar with Windows server. Is it basically windows 2000 with some added features? What are the advantages of this over Red Hat?

Comparing Redhat to (any) Windows Server is comparing apples to bananas.

But yeah, Windows 2003 Server is basicly Windows 2000 server with a number of extra's and large number of improvments. It's a minor update though, Windows 2003 is version 5.2 while Windows 2000 is version 5.0.

i'd prefer redhat by a mile.... if only i can figure out samba lol

That is one area they really need to improve (Samba) if they want to make Red Hat (or Linux) more 'user freindly' when it comes to integrating with other operating systems on a network. An easily configuable GUI would be very much appreiated.

Even I have problems! Have sorted out Linux -> Windows, now just the other way round ...
