I NEED your help and support just now :( I happened to flash my new motherboard with a faulty rom-file and now nothing happen except a lot of beeps! - 8 - I think...
Iīve read about the amiboot.rom - method but nothing happen - obviously the bootblock recovery feature does not make it. Itīs a Gigabyte GA-7vkmp motherboard with a soldred bioschips... There is a combination of keys to press when turning on the computer with the file amiboot.rom in the floppy, for some models itīs Ctrl+Home or Ctrl+Inset.....but none of them works with this mobo..:( Do we have any mobo-technician here who can help me with this issue? TIA IB Edit: The headline says itīs GE-7vkmp..of course..itīs misspelled, should be GA-7vkmp model |
is the chip physically soldered onto the board? it's usually not in modern pc's, and you can pull it out with an ic chip puller, avalible at most raido shacks, and you could try hot flashing it from another machine...

damn :(, lemme look up a little on the board and see if i can give you any other ideas
edit -------------------------- count the beeps again, if it's 8, the video card isn't seated right or dead, if it's 9, it's definatly a dead bios when you tried the amibios.rom trick, did you have any other files on the disk? if so, make sure it's the only name, and name the file in all capital letters, eg, AMIBOOT.ROM . does it even try to access your floppy when you cut the power on? edit 2 ------------------------- take a look at this link and make sure it's soldered by looking here... http://www.badflash.com/findbios.htm Quote:
