 Yes I´m a newbie to set up a ftp-server. I´m running Standard server 3590 and my HD is formatted with FAT32. Last night when I tried, as with 3541, I got a message that the actual partition NOT was NTFS-formatted. With 3541 there was no problem seting up a ftp with FAT32 and IIS6.0

My question: Do I have to NTFS-format the partition to set up a ftp-server with 3590/IIS6.0?

I hope someone could help me out with this matter.

I would highly recommend using NTFS on the partition. FAT32 gives you no security at all while NTFS allows you to set permissions down to the file level. Go here for a quick comparison:

Good luck and I hope this helps some....:)

but if your system go crashing and your using windows xp ( with ntfs ) you cannot get your files back. but if you have fat32 formatted than your able to recover your files.
