it would say that the the version is old or corrupt.
and the file mapi32.dll

i search the knowledge base and they recommended me to rename the mapi32.dll to mapi32.old

and also to change the registry.

but i am still not able to overcome this problem. i also cannot reinstall the microsoft office 2000.

any ideas to start with?

There is a removal tool for MS Office products. That tool deteles anything that belongs to Office. After running that tool I'm sure you'll be able to reinstall Outlook.

Let me know if this does or doesn't work.
