Hello fellow members @ Betaone

Just wondering if any of you would be kind enough to shed some light on issues I've been trying to resolve.
Trying to convert music video files (.asf) to (.mpeg) whilst maintaing or even enhancing video and sound quality?

Any feedback/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi shaft. You might check out this link at vcdhelp.com: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htm. It is a tutorial on converting several formats, asf included, to svcd (mpeg2) format using TMPGEnc. Hope this helps ya. You might also check out www.doom9.org for additional help or tutorials.

Hi Shaft,

I went through a project at work where I needed to edit/convert some .asf. I spent a lot of time looking at all those little programs (TMPGEnc, etc) without much luck. Surprisingly, the program I found to work the best and most completely was Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video 3. It's one of the only video editors that will open Windows Media Video (asf, wmv) and let you both edit and convert it. It really works well and has had some great revues. It's not that expensive either, especially when you compare it to programs like Premiere.

All the best,
E3

Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video 3.

Works wonders if you use it properly and have the money to purchase the full version. I downloaded the demo and its wonderful except not full functional (Demo) version

Does anyone know where I can get hold of this from? I have some old tape reels (I mean pre-historic stuff) Grand parents, Great grand parents etc..and would like to transfer these onto disk.

Thanks again to Hamslammer and E3 for vital info, and you the rest of you guys on Betaone who contributed.

Shaft..
