About a month ago, I read somewhere, not sure if it was here, about a "new" internet protocol, that you could use; I think it was call Dot.net or something like that..I supposedly allows faster internet speeds..

I had used it, and noticed a marked improvement. but when my PC blew up yesterday, I lost it..

Ring a bell to anyone?

TIA!!

I don't know of a protcol called .net but I do know that .NET is going to include IPv6 support (the next generation of tcp/ip; we currently use IPv4) - check this link for more info:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows.net...6/default.mspx

Hope this helps some :)

This protocol is not owned by Microsoft. Any operating system can use ths protocol so long as the necessary drivers are in place. The only thing that is necessary is to make sure your ISP is on the IPV6 backbone.
