The DetonatorXP drivers thing has made me confused. I read some news saying that they unoficially released a new version -- 16.30. But on their website, the latest ver is 23.11, which is clearly a bigger number than 16.XX. So which is the latest version, and which should I use???
Thanks in advance. :) |
I have been using the 23.11 set for a while now , last time I tried one of the so called unofficial latest drivers my system crashed and burned :( :( . I think stick with the official release , at least they are signed for XP.

so i guess i'll use 23.11, until nvidia updates the drivers on their website ....

h**p://www.savagenews.com is pretty good about keeping up with and providing links to the latest drivers.

1. Nvidia 23.11 are the latest official drivers (appearing on Nvidia website as of 1-16-02), the most stable & higher performing in general. Depending on your system & exact nvidia card, there may be exceptions.
Nvidia 23.12 (WHQL) just released. Can be found here: http://www.maxreboot.com/index.php but note caution about these drivers here: http://www.rivastation.com/news/news_de.htm#1011199894 2. nvidia 16.30 are reportedly for ALL systems, including the DELL-NVIDIA detonator Quadro2 Go (Windows 2000/XP, win9X/ME, etc.) notebook systems. This WHQL (MS-Windows Hardware Quality Labs) release is for those using the older series drivers. (the final "MS certified driver" of the older series) 3. If for some reason the latest 23.xx series drivers do not work best on your system, then you could try various others, starting with the 22.xx & 21.xx series. Depending on your system, the older series, 12.xx & up, would be appropriate. In general, the older nvidia cards tend to work better with the slightly older drivers. 4. 2 good Nvidia driver resources (besides Nvidia site): http://www.electic.com/download/smar...c=Video_nVidia http://www.tweakersasylum.com/Detona...tonatorxp.html |
