it will just be going in my grandma's computer so it won't get used for any high performance games. just wheel of fortune 2003 (8mb card she currently has won't run it) and some hoyle card games.

11 views, no replies. Must admit, I don't have a clue either, but, I hate PNY Ram! So, if I ever have to choose between 2 items and no one can help me, I'll get the one that does NOT say PNY on it.

Well if its not going to be used for any heavy gaming, and she is just upgrading from an 8meg card... I would get the cheaper one of course :) She does not need any high end super-dooper video card, and both cards will work fine for her application. Usually you should try to stay away from the MX line of Geforce Cards because they are just dubbed down versions of the non-MX Geforce Cards, but in this situation, it is not a big deal. I would go with the cheaper one, but thats just my opinion. I dont know anything about the PNY that tubebuoy talks about :(

nnuxx 9th Jan 03 02:36 AM

yes... what does PNY stand for, TubeBuoy??

as far as i know...
i agree with Shiromagius, MX line of Geforce are the chepeast, but the M64 is also, but from Creative... :(
both have 32Mb SDRAM, so...

GeForce2 MX200 GPU Features
- 256-bit
- 350MHz RAMDAC
ALBATRON TNT2 M64
-128-bit
-RAMDAC: 300MHz

GeForce seams a littlle more capable, even tho i dont know what PNY stands for... hehe :D

Nichotin 9th Jan 03 06:25 PM

both are nvidias and tnt2 is way older than geforce 2. Go for the geforce 2.

Stringent 18th Jan 03 05:18 PM

Id say the Geforce 2MX.

ecperez 21st Jan 03 07:05 AM

Yeah Geforce 2 is better rather than the TNT2

ok thanks everyone. will probably get the PNY Gf one, its about $20 after rebate. the other one is i think $23 and no rebate.

The only problem i've had with pny is trying to get an RMA number to send back some memory that went bad. After I finally got through the automated menu, they were really nice and sent it as soon as they recieved the bad stick.
