Just wondering if anyone has manged to get styles and/or themes to work in rc2. I used a uxtheme from xpsp1 to get stylexp to install but still can't get themes to work.
Anyone managed it?

Can you not get 3rd party themes to work, or can you not even get the default ones working?

If its a problem generally with themes, then you might have not enabled the Themes service. It is disabled by default in windows.net

I have enabled the Themes service but can't get either 3rd party themes nor the inbuilt themes to work. In fact before i installed StyleXP there were no inbuilt themes listed.

Weird. At the moment I am still using RC1. It was just a matter of enabling the service for the in-built themes to work. I havent tried any 3rd party themes.

I know there was a uxtheme.dll patch specially made for .NET, but the last time I saw it it was for an ancient build.

Weird i know. I didnt have any problems with rc1- inbuilt themes worked fine. I patched a uxtheme last night but still no luck. Will reinstall later today and see if that does anything.
Thanx for the help

You need to patch uxtheme.dll - details of how to do this can be found in this forum. There are also ready patched versions floating round the web.
