Looking for another kind of messenger with voice communication, have been using windows but having problems at my partners end, and for some reason it keeps logging me out at my end. :(

Have tried G-fone but this was a bit buggy, am now looking at ICQ.....never used this before , but looking into it, apparently it puts a load of cr@p on ya puter, and can be unstable, and the light version does not have the voice com .........

Ouestion: is there a recommended build which I should install with the phone communication........

or is there another alternative prog Pc to Pc..........oh and free of course

Messenger was working fine for awhile, but I too started to encounter the same problems billybiker talks about. Any help would be appreciated.

Why don't you just try good old NetMeeting? It's stable, free, and from our beloved M$.

Of course it's kinda old, so the user interface isn't what you want, but it did do the tricks for me for quite a while.

Net meeting well I did'nt even know this was hidden in xp......ok is it best to uninstall messenger cause that seems to be the default..........if this fails think I am going to try Yahoo.........oh if you looking for a big pile of poop.................try buddy phone ......just dumped it, you would do better with 2 cans and a piece of string.

There is a really ad-ware type one, the ads ruin it, but it works... I've tried it, but I don't like it too much... try www.paltalk.com

Messenger logs you out when there is high bandwidth. It happens to me too. Now I don't download anything when I chat. Try MSN Messenger 5 dude. The Plus! Extension for it is now there too. :D
