is there anyway of adding additional ftp sites usin iis 5.1?

Sure, in MMC (Computer Management), open IIS and right click Default FTP Site, select New, Site, then configure it.

If you have multiple NIC's in your machine, you can even put the "Sites" on different IP#'s.
