I just hooked my old HP CDWriter 7200e to my XP machine and downloaded the xp drivers from HP's site. Everything went smoothly except that now when I boot up it takes a long time to see my desktop. I also installed EZ CD Creator 5.02 with the XP patch. By the way, I have dissabled XP's built-in cd burner software.
Has anyone experience the same thing? RaZoR :) |
I haven't had that happen-but you could stop it from loading anything at boot-up to increase boot speed. Go to Run, type msconfig, pull down Startup, and uncheck anything, everything you would like. It doesn't remove anything-just keeps it from starting at boot.
Just click ez-cd icon and it will start when you want to burn a disk -EZ loads a lot of crap at boot if you don't stop it,uncheck all the EZ stuff. You also might try unchecking anything that points to the letters HP [ December 12, 2001: Message edited by: spark25 ] |
